John Safran: In Conversation

John Safran: In Conversation

As part of the inaugural Yack Festival in Sydney, John Safran will appear in conversation.

John Safran has made a career of turning up where he isn’t wanted. He has bowled up on the doorsteps of felons and white extremists in Mississippi for his Ned Kelly Award-winning true crime book Murder In Mississippi, and in the offices of the KKK, Sharia courts and Ray Martin’s rubbish bins as part of his many award-winning documentaries.

This time he bought it closer to home with his new book, Depends What You Mean By Extremist, spending quality time with home grown jihadis, white nationalists and a smattering of anarchists and he explored fault lines and unexpected alliances amongst Australia’s cultural warriors. For Yack John will be in conversation with writer and producer, Sophie Braham, who has her own cameo in the book.
