Yack is a little festival for people who can’t shut up.
The inaugural festival will feature Sam Simmons' Sydney debut of his new show A–K; Wil Anderson in a special live recording of his popular podcast Wilosophy featuring a guest so special they cannot yet be announced; satirist and best-selling author John Safran chats with writer and producer Sophie Braham about his latest book Depends What You Mean By Extremist; Rove McManus invites the audience to bring ideas for his unplanned, spontaneous and possibly dangerous new show I’ve Got Nothing; Tom Ballard talks to award-winning journalist Stan Grant in a not-to-miss live recording of his podcast Like I’m A Six-Year-Old; Peter Helliar's first show for families; The Chaser discussing their most audacious stunt ever; The Kates (The Katering Show,Get Krack!n) live in konversation; Zan Rowe and Myf Warhurst's first ever live edition of Bang On; and encore performances of Damien Power and Dilruk Jayasinha's smash-hit shows – just to name a few of the many highlights.
Yack will showcase a curated selection of the funniest, smartest and most provocative comedy, podcasts and panels. With artists that explore religion, gender, conflict, their own personal stories – as well as some stuff that is just flat-out silly – Yack is a celebration of Australia’s fine tradition of banging on.
Yack will take place from Sunday 5 – Sunday 19 November at Giant Dwarf. Visit the website for more information.
