Tonight’s Guest! Rove adds 2027 dates due demand!
Rove McManus will open 2027 with four shows across New South Wales and New Zealand, taking his award-winning stand-up show Tonight’s Guest: Rove McManus (tales from the talk show trenches) to Wollongong, Wyong, Auckland and Wellington in January.
The new dates follow his final 2026 shows in Hobart on 21 November, Logan on 11 December and Caloundra on 12 December, where tickets are already selling fast.
The audience asks the questions!
After more than 25 years of hosting talk shows, Rove is turning the format around. In Tonight’s Guest, the audience does the interviewing.
Nothing is off the table: his favourite guest, his worst on-air disaster, and what Elmo is really like. The night mixes stand-up with stories from behind the desk.
The show won a Weekly Award at Perth Fringe World in 2026.
From stand-up to Rove Live and back
McManus began his career as a stand-up comedian before creating Rove Live, one of the most successful talk shows in Australian television history. Through more than two decades on screen, he has kept headlining clubs and festivals around the country. His 2026 shows earned five stars from The Age, which said he still has “the same boyish charm, off-the-cuff humour, and ability to bounce off the audience” that made him a household name.
Fellow comedian Tom Gleeson also gave the show five stars, telling audiences to “get yourself an education and watch this show”.
