Claire just wants to have fun.
But she’s the least fun person she knows, so she’s got her work cut out for her.
This is going to involve time, energy, sweat and tears, and probably some lists*.
One thing’s for sure, it’s not going to be fun.
* 1. Hide behind a curtain.
- Throw things over a fence.
- Pat two dogs at the same time.
- Send a selfie to someonewho’sstanding next to you.
- Try to start a group hug with people who are too cool for it.
- Put someone else’s clothes on and do their voice.
- Draw a picture of your enemy.
- Explore a tunnel (not a euphemism).
- Whisper to someone through a library shelf.
- Run through the train doors asthey’reclosing.
- Wake up tomorrow and do another 10 things.
She’s gonna discover how to have fun.
Or she’s gonna ruin fun for everyone.
Is This Fun Yet?
Claire has realised she is not much fun, but she is surrounded by people who are.
By festival season 2026 she is going to scientifically observe the fun people in her life and force herself to be fun like them, and she’s going to take it very seriously.
You’ll have seen Claire on Spicks and Specks, Have You Been Paying Attention? and pretty much every other comedy, cooking and panel show, as well as hosting the podcast I’m The Worst with Claire Hooper.
