I’m As Surprised As You Are
It’s been nine years since Celia Pacquola last graced a UK stage. Nine years!
She went back to Australia because she missed the spiders and since then, she’s been busy. Celia has filmed multiple comedy specials, was nominated for best show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival three times, starred in hit Aussie series (Utopia, Rosehaven), hosted the legendary Thank God You’re Here, won a bunch of awards, swore on live TV, made a quiche for the first time and also a baby. Now, she’s back, and it’s time for a catch-up (where only she talks).
Not familiar with Australian TV? No worries. You might remember Celia from Live at the Apollo, Russell Howard’s Good News, The Rob Brydon Show, or Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Or maybe you caught her during one of her acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe runs or at live shows up, down and across the UK between 2010 and 2016.
I’m As Surprised As You Are is Celia’s seventh and best hour yet. It’s a silly, gossipy, wine-fuelled hour of personal stories from a performer at the top of her game. Four shows only.
“Precision-engineered and hilariously funny” ★★★★★ Chortle, 2024
